Transplant 50th anniversary |

On 30th October 1960, the UK's first successful kidney transplant was carried out in Edinburgh, between identical twins. Professor (later Sir) Michael Woodruff was the surgeon assisted by Mr James Ross, who remembers the operation to this day.
