50th Anniversary of dialysis for ESRD

50 years ago in Seattle the first patient started dialysis with the deliberate intention of keeping him alive despite end stage renal failure.  More in the history of nephrology blog. He survived 11 years, but a patient who joined him in 1963 received a medal in Seattle last month.  Robin Eady later became a doctor and professor of Dermatology.  Article from the Seattle Times
